In this blog post you are going to learn the 1 mental exercise I implemented into my routine that helped to motivate me to lose the weight AGAIN, so you can implement it too and finally get started on your weightloss journey.

When re-starting my journey to lose weight I really struggled with finding the motivation to get started.

I was so depressed, tired, and felt so disgusting. I knew what I needed to do. I mean I had done it before. I had lost all the weight but for some reason, I couldn’t muster up the motivation to start again.

I kept thinking about how far I had to go and how long it would take. I thought about how my days were completely packed and I was overwhelmed with how I was going to fit in exercise and meal prep on top of everything else I was doing in a day.

One day I was thinking about the success I had within my business. I had sold $6,000 of the product myself 3 months in a row. I had no following, no viral videos, and somehow managed to be super successful during my run with this particular company.

I credit my success to a daily mental exercise I did. I decided to implement this exercise into my fitness journey in hopes that it would help me to do something that felt impossible as it had done during my business venture.

Once I started implementing this exercise I was able to find the motivation to finally make healthy changes to get my body back.

So I wanted to share this exercise with you in hopes that you can get motivated to start your journey as well.

The Exercise:

Sit or stand in a quiet room and close your eyes. Take deep breaths in and out until you feel relaxed and your mind is clear.

  • Now envision yourself with your dream body. Feel how it would feel.
  • What aches and pains would no longer be present?
  • How would you look?
  • How would you feel?
  • What would you be able to do that you can’t currently do?
  • What would your family say? Your co-workers? Your friends?
  • What would be different in your life?
  • What would your emotional state be like?
  • What would you wear?
  • How would your day look different?
  • What specific changes in your body do you see? Start from your head and go down to your toes and imagine each little piece of your body is how you want it to be.
  • How would your daily thoughts change?
  • How would life with your kids change?
  • What would you get done in a day?

Now open your eyes. How do you feel? You probably feel a lot better than you did prior am I right?

What I learned along my journey was I spent so much time hating my body that I wasn't willing to do anything about it. I got comfortable just being how I was. Click To Tweet

When I started doing this visualization exercise daily I was motivated to make that vision a reality.

When doubt or self-deprecating thoughts started to creep in I would again envision myself already at my goal body.

I would even go a step further and envision my why. My why was I wanted to feel sexier so I felt confident being intimate with my husband without wanting to cover my body.

My biggest why was how much energy I would have to not only knock out more of my to-do list but have time and energy to wrestle around and play with my boys or even get through the day without needing a nap after already getting 8-12 hours of sleep.

I wouldn’t just think about these things I would envision them as if I was already living that life and somehow my mind did a total 180 and wanted to take action to make it a reality.

I would love it if after you do this exercise you share with me 1 thing about your vision that you are committed to making a reality?
